Description

SANDITON AND OTHER TALES بقلم Jane Austen ... This book presents a bouquet of three lesser-known stories penned by Jane Austen. Sanditon was written in the last months of Austen's life and was left unfinished at the time of her death in 1817. Set in a seaside town, it is an amusing tale of hyperchondriacs, mixed in with family drama and a whiff of romance. Written as a series of letters, Lady Susan, is the tale of a cunning coquette whose shenanigans display a lack of regard for anyone, even her own daughter. Another unfinished work, The Watsons, follows the young and spirited Emma Watson as she wades through the shallow social past-time of husband hunting, in search for true love.

Jane Austen Jane Austen

Jane Austen, the daughter of a clergyman, was born in Hampshire in 1775, and later lived in Bath and the village of Chawton. As a child and teenager, she wrote brilliantly witty stories for her family's amusement, as well as a novella, Lady Susan. Her first published novel was Sense and Sensibility, which appeared in 1811 and was soon followed by Pride and Prejudice, Mansfield Park and Emma. Austen died in 1817, and Persuasion and Northanger Abbey were published posthumously in 1818.
