ظهرت كتب زينب ميان على قناة CBeebies Bedtime Stories وThe Guardian على قناة BBC لمساهمتها في التنوع في أدب الأطفال. كانت مؤلفة في اليوم العالمي للكتاب في عام 2021، وتُرجمت أعمالها إلى لغات متعددة. درست زينب بيولوجيا الخلايا الجزيئية في جامعة كوليدج لندن واستمرت في تدريس العلوم في المدارس الثانوية قبل أن تتخذ قرارًا بالتخلي عن المهنة لإحداث تغيير في مجال نشر الأطفال. شعرت أن الشخصيات المتنوعة من جميع الأقليات والخلفيات لم يتم تمثيلها بشكل كامل في كتب الأطفال الصغار. أطلقت شركة Sweet Apple Publishers مع التزام واضح بنشر كتب شاملة، وقد قامت بتأليف الكثير منها بنفسها.
